Alex Yates – More Ordinary Japan

More Ordinary Japan is the second publication in Alex Yates’ photographic series exploring the incidental, mundane and domestic scenes of both urban and rural Japan. Through his photography, Alex reflects on his relationship with the country and its culture, finding beauty in the everyday moments and overlooked details of Japanese life.

As Alex explains:

“More Ordinary Japan continues my exploration of the beauty in everyday scenes in Japan, which first began with Ordinary Japan (now sold out). These zines feature everyday scenes that you might not always notice, but hopefully, you’ll see the same beauty as I do through my visual essays.”

The publication is a 36-page A5 zine, limited to an edition of 150 copies. Each image was captured using a traditional film camera. The edition is unsigned.
