Hiroko creates ceramics inspired primarily by the Japanese Mingei folk art movement. Her work is produced under the name a•pottery and is characterised by a distinctive style using earthenware terracotta clay. Each piece is individually hand-built and finished with a unique slipware pattern or individual surface treatment. Her signature works are glazed with a warm honey glaze.
